Walking Tours

On this page you will find guides to selected areas of El Sobrante, with accompanying identifying information about the sites and buildings that you will encounter.  These self-guided tours should, generally, be walkable and able to be completed within one to two hours.  The guides have been prepared by historian Maurice Abraham, covering the downtown area of El Sobrante, from Appian Way to El Portal. The Historic Marker Map was added in July, 2015, and shows the location of the 12 historic markers that were installed as part of El Sobrante's "walkability" project.  Please feel free to share your comments on our Facebook page or contact us at: eshistory@gmail.com.
